Type R Dash Cams

We've seen pictures of the two Type Rs that were declared total loss and to protect our investments, because they aren't cheap, dash cams are a must. What's everyone using or looking to get?

Someone installed a BLACKVUE DR650s-1C dash cam and the quality seems decent, I may look into that one.

I thought these were a good idea but after really looking into it, if your commute involve being mixed in heavy traffic often and driving on tight city roads then you should get it. Aside from that, its rare that this footage will come in handy. In all my years of driving I haven't come across anything video worthy.

Such a pain to wire the dashcam seamlessly into the lining, though a dash cam is more for "just in case" than a real need for it. I've never needed the footage either, but it's like insurance for me, better to have and not need it than not have it and need it.

Dash cams, maybe even a rear facing one are a necessity in my area. So many bad drivers and pedestrians who thinks signs and lights are suggestions...

More often than not your driving habits influence what happens to you on the road more than anything so working with that and becoming better in that will do you far more good. Motorcycle riders are the most vulnerable, maybe thinking about drivers the way they do will help.

I ride a motorcycle on weekends and it's all about defensive riding and being extremely aware of your surroundings, reading other drivers and what they're about to do. Something that sticks with you on and off the bike, but my area has an increasing amount of insurance fraud.

There you go... that alone increases your odds more than the majority of people on the road. I have seen people that drive by just paying attention to the few cars ahead of them and nothing else. Most drivers aren't fully conscious of all they need to factor in. In many cases even not at fault accidents could be prevented
